Technology Details
🔹 IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
The standard IPL handpiece uses a xenon flash lamp to deliver broad-spectrum light (400–1200 nm). Interchangeable filters narrow the output for specific treatments — 420 nm for acne, 560 nm for rejuvenation, 640 nm for hair removal. Compatible with most entry-level and mid-range IPL machines.
- Xenon lamp with exchangeable filter slots
- Spot size: 15×50 mm (standard)
- Sapphire cooling tip for patient comfort
- 300,000–500,000 shots per lamp
🔹 SHR (Super Hair Removal)
SHR uses rapid low-fluence pulses (up to 10 Hz) at 640–950 nm to gradually heat hair follicles. Unlike traditional IPL, SHR delivers energy in multiple rapid sub-pulses — less pain, safer for darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV–V), and faster treatment speed.
- In-motion technique (gliding, no stamping)
- Pulse rate: up to 10 Hz continuous
- Fluence: 1–10 J/cm² per sub-pulse
- Built-in contact cooling
🔹 DPL (Dynamic Pulsed Light)
DPL narrows the IPL spectrum to 500–650 nm for more precise targeting of melanin and hemoglobin. Better results for pigmentation, vascular lesions, and skin rejuvenation with fewer sessions. Less epidermal heating = safer for sensitive skin.
- Narrow spectrum: 500–650 nm
- Precision targeting of melanin & hemoglobin
- Reduced epidermal heat damage
- Fewer treatments needed vs standard IPL
🔹 E-light (IPL + RF)
E-light combines IPL (430–1100 nm) with bipolar radio frequency. The RF energy penetrates deeper than light alone, enhancing hair removal and skin tightening. Works on all skin types including tanned skin. RF pre-heats the follicle, allowing lower IPL fluence for safer treatment.
- Dual energy: IPL + Bipolar RF (1–5 MHz)
- RF penetrates deeper than light alone
- Safe for tanned & darker skin
- Combined handpiece with conductive electrodes
🔹 OPT (Optimal Pulse Technology)
OPT uses a flat-top (square-wave) pulse — energy output stays constant throughout the entire pulse duration instead of spiking then dropping. This eliminates “hot spots” that cause burns and ensures uniform treatment energy. Standard on mid-to-high-end IPL machines.
- Flat-top waveform, no energy spikes
- Consistent energy per pulse for uniform results
- Reduced burn risk vs conventional pulsed IPL
- Pulse duration: 1–10 ms adjustable
🔹 BBL (BroadBand Light)
BBL delivers high-intensity broad-spectrum light (410–1400 nm) with advanced filtering. Originally branded by Sciton (BBL Hero), now widely available as compatible aftermarket handpieces. Superior for photoaging reversal, pigment clearance, and vascular treatments with fewer sessions.
- Wide spectrum: 410–1400 nm
- Multiple interchangeable filter options
- High peak power for faster results
- Compatible aftermarket versions available
🔹 NIR (Near Infrared)
NIR handpieces emit 900–1800 nm near-infrared light that penetrates deep into the dermis and subcutaneous layer. Primarily used for skin tightening and collagen remodeling, not for hair removal. Often found as a second handpiece on multifunctional IPL machines.
- Deep penetration: dermis + subcutaneous
- Thermal collagen remodeling effect
- 900–1800 nm exclusive spectrum
- Often paired with IPL on multi-function machines
🔹 SSR (Super Skin Rejuvenation)
SSR focuses the IPL spectrum (530–950 nm) specifically for collagen stimulation and skin texture improvement. Filters block UV and deep-IR to concentrate energy in the dermal remodeling zone. Ideal for fine lines, enlarged pores, and overall skin quality improvement.
- Optimized for dermal collagen stimulation
- 530–950 nm targeted spectrum
- Fine lines, pores, texture improvement
- Gentle, minimal downtime
🔹 Celllight
Celllight technology uses pulsed light at 500–950 nm with photobiomodulation principles to stimulate cellular repair and regeneration. Marketed for “cellular-level” skin rejuvenation. Less aggressive than standard IPL, suitable for sensitive and maintenance treatments.
- Photobiomodulation for cellular repair
- Gentle, suitable for sensitive skin
- 500–950 nm optimized spectrum
- Maintenance & anti-aging focus
